General Studies Teacher for Kindergarten and/or First Grade

Miami Jewish Academy is an inclusive holistic orthodox jewish community school deeply rooted in Torah Values and knowledge.

We are seeking candidates to fill the position of general studies teacher for grades Kindergarten and first grade, for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Successful candidates will have at least five years of teaching experience. We are looking for someone who is passionate, charismatic, creative and organized. Candidate must be open to conscious discipline and student led teaching.
Pay is based on education and experience

Responsibilities:

Teach general studies such as math, science, english and writing to kindergarten and first grade; including lesson planning and proper texts.
Participate in team meetings to review curriculum, train in Montessori approaches and conscious discipline, and discuss student progress;
Other duties as assigned.
FULL TIME: 7:45am - 4pm

Qualifications:

BA in education; MA preferred but not required.
At least five years of successful teaching experience in collaborative working environments.
Familiarity and experience with younger children
Experience in project based learning, Collaborative Problem Solving, and student-centered instruction.
